It was wonderful to meet with so many of you this week for parent teacher conferences. It was great to celebrate all of the successes that are happening in our classroom!
Next week will be celebrating Halloween. We will be marching in the parade at 2:15. Students are invited to bring their costume with them to class and then they can change before the parade. After the parade is finished we will be having a party inside. Families are welcome to join us for all or part of the celebrations.
As readers students have been working on demonstrating their thinking through written responses. We have been looking at models to help students develop an understanding of how to construct their responses. We have been spending time finding evidence from the text that supports our thinking.
In math we have been working hard to understand multiplicative comparisons. We have been talking about how a multiplication sentence is factor x factor = product. Students are working on remembering that the first factor is the number of groups and the second factor is the amount in each group.
Today we had fun with our kindergarten buddies. Check out the blog post to see pictures of the students!
Have a great weekend,
Heather
