Today, all 3 science classes studied growth and development, a developmental concept in next generation science standards. Students described the plants in their terrarium, and how they developed new parts, and how they grew larger. Our first animal organism, the isopod, or "roly-poly" demonstrated this concept as it develops 2 more legs when it molts the first time. We extended the learning by students discussing and showing how the plants could complete the cycle when new seeds were produced.
Take a closer look at our new science standards for the 2018-2019 Year.
