Hello Families,
We have a field trip next Wednesday, April 11 to the Old State House and Wadsworth Athenaeum.
We will leave at 8:45 and return at 1:15. Students will need to bring a lunch, unless they have specially ordered a bag lunch from the café using one of the forms sent with the permission slip.
Check with me if you are not sure that you have ordered a lunch for your child. I got 2 bag lunch orders with a name, and one with no name. The students that turned in a lunch form with a name know who they are.
Students will not be visiting any gift shops during our trip, so they don’t need spending money.
In other news, students have been learning about electrical circuits in science. Today, our class tested different materials to determine whether they were actually a conductor or an insulator. The light-the-light-bulb challenge took both perseverance and resilience, but all of the groups were able “see the light” in the end.
Southeast research is going fine, with some students completing their second essay this week. You can see your child’s work online as it progresses in Google Classroom. I am excited about the learning that is taking place as students work to become better readers and writers as they research topics that they found themselves.
Lastly, report cards come home tomorrow. Please keep the card, but sign and return the envelope this week. As always, contact me with any concerns or comments.
