Dear Fourth Grade Families,
I hope you had a great week. Next Wednesday, October 18th will be a minimum day with dismissal at 1:05.
In reading this week students completed their first reading assessment showing what they have learned about characters and story elements. I was really impressed with the dedication on their assessments. This week we also were able to spend time at the book fair. The students were very excited about getting their new book! They are eagerly reading their books and excited to share with each other. Our next reading unit will be non-fiction.
In math this week we have been working on multi-digit word problems using addition and subtraction. We have been working on visualizing the problem and using unit bars to help solve these problems. We have begun our review of the concepts taught in this unit. Our first unit assessment will be Tuesday, October 17th. I am sending home a study guide for students to continue to practice at home. I will also attach an additional copy.
Have a wonderful weekend.
