Good Afternoon,
We are right back in the swing of things, with our math video homework. Please remind your student that there is a math video tonight. There will be math videos every night this week.
We are beginning our unit on fractions. This week we will be working on standard, 4.NF.1. Students are expected to understand how to identify and create equivalent fractions using models. We will be working with denominators of 2, 3,4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 100. We will be working with the “Magic One Whole” where students are noticing patterns for equivalent fractions.
Students will be taking their Winter Benchmark Assessment, Friday, January 19th and Monday, January 22nd. We may have to adjust these dates depending on snow days. The winter benchmark includes concepts taught during the first three units.
These are the standards we will be reviewing in the next few weeks: · 4. NBT.2 (read/write multi-digit numbers, comparing multi-digit numbers), NBT.3 (rounding), NBT.4 (multi-digit add/sub), OA.3 (multistep word problems), OA.4 (factors/multiples/prime/composite), NBT.5 (multi-digit multiplication), NBT.6 (multi-digit division including remainders).
Today we reviewed rounding!
Have a great week.
